AquaFit
Aquafit was so much fun! I used to go to the YMCA & join in with the older ladies haha:) I'm hoping to possibly take an aquafit class this summer with a bunch of friends. It got my heart rate going and I could feel it the next day in my abs! It was definitely much harder doing exercise underwater but I'm happy I went and had the chance to actually take a class.

We are almost at the midway point of the semester (!) so it is time for
you to write a blog post reflecting on your progress so far in Get Fit.
Please reflect on and write about the following themes:
Participation -I feel like my participation has been consistant in the class and that I work hard!
One of my best days was definitely one of the two days we spent at the Panorama School of Dance. I really dislike dancing, I've honestly never liked it. At the school of dance however, I tried my best to keep up with the instructor and I ended up really liking the class. I felt like I was working really hard and that my brain was working to remember all the steps. Sometimes I feel like stress might be a factor stopping me from going forth and really pushing myself when it comes to trying new things. I am consistently working on controlling my stress however and in the last few weeks I have felt more comfortable expressing myself in front of others and giving 110% when trying new activities. Many of my family members have been diagnosed with health related problems due to lack of exercise and bad diet choices. I don't want to have to put myself through that so I'm choosing to make better choices lately.
Field Trips - So far I've really enjoyed the field trips we have done. I really liked going snowshoeing and im looking forward to aqua fit in a few weeks! I joined Get Fit in part because of the field trips. They have yet to dissapoint me:)
What has been the most enjoyable - Being given the chance to be in an all girls class is great. There's less competition with others and more competition with yourself in achieving that personal best. I also really enjoy being in a class with girls from my grade but also in older grades. I would to do another snowshoeing trip with Get Fit if it was possible. I had so much fun that day!
Fitness - Fitness has been great this year. From the beginning of grade 8, fitness has been my favorite physical education component. I like setting goals for myself and then trying to beat them. It's a form of personal motivation I truly enjoy. On the beep test for example, I went from continuously achieving between 9-9.5 all the way to getting 9.8-10 each time. Last week I wasn't happy with my first beep test score so I joined the older grades in doing it again and did so much better the second time. I'm proud of myself in regards to pushing myself in fitness.

"Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion"
- Martha Graham
Two weeks ago, our Get Fit class spent two sessions at the Panorama School of Dance. We spent the class doing aerobic stretching and we learned a routine. I am definitely not the best dancer, I can't even walk straight! But I felt like I was actively engaged in the class and though it was tough at times to master the moves, by the end of the day I felt like I had accomplished a new skill.

Tae Kwon Do
Alright, Tae Kwon Do is definitely not my sport! I had a blast trying it out though & it was a great way to relieve some stress from school. One of my classmates was actually familiar with the sport and demonstrated breaking a piece of wood in half!
Great experience :)
